MISSION STATEMENT

To maintain and foster an understanding and appreciation of Lubec's history for the enlightenment and education of residents and visitors.

The Society strives to be a vibrant, viable, visible community organization that is recognized as the principal repository of our historic past and to be a vital participant in the understanding of the present and a prism through which to shape our future.

ABOUT US

For 45+ yrs. we have welcomed tourists, teachers,

professors,  students, & community members to share the rich history of Lubec

We host talks, demonstrations, and tours at the museum.  Our museum, community projects & the organization is accomplished by "ALL VOLUNTEERS"

Over the past several years our volunteers have dwindled.  Our challenge for the 21st Century is to continue to carry the torch handed to us by the charter members to the next generation to carry Lubec's legecy.  Please consider becoming a member and volunteering!

MESSAGE FROM OUR SECRETARY CECIL MOORES

There is an old adage - Time and Tide wait for no man and time passes quickly. Generations of Lubecer's have come and gone and with their passing we have lost their stories, their knowledge and wisdom of what made Lubec flourish.  Our community's history is lost forever - unless "YOU" help us to preserve their struggles, their life and our history.

We research, collect, document, record, preserve, and display information about Lubec's people, past events, former businesses, etc..  Please assist us by sharing your family stories, historical information, photographs and your memories of Lubec for future generations!  We will make copies of your photographs and documents and return them to you promptly.  A few years ago there was a popular saying "It takes a community to rais a child."  While this is true, it also takes "HISTORY" to tell a child what their community was and is about. We look forward to meeting you!
