COURSE OFFERED:


How to Properly Clean Tombstones

Throughout the season, until late October, (depending on the cold weather) we will schedule classes.  The class is 

4 hrs., hands-on and cost $20.00 for materials & held on Saturdays.  For more information contact Barbara at  733-2994.

2023, 2024 & 2025 MEMORIAL DAY SERVICES 

Talk honoring 3 Lubec Service Men will be held at our building and refreshents will also be served.  All are welcome! 


PREVIOUS EVENTS - 

Memorial Day 2021 & 22

The society & the Lubec American Legion Post #65 hosted a Memorial Day remembrance at our building.  The festivities were  enjoyed  by many in the community


June 19, 2021, Memorial dedication  to the children who died tragically at a school picnic in 1936.  Recalled in the book "Remember the Children".  Over 125 people attended the dedication ceremony


College  of the Atlantic

professors and students talk on life working in the factories and the impact when they closed.


Bowdion College Immersion Program in August - 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023,  2024      


PRESENTATIONS GIVEN:

  • Treats Island in Lubec
  • Light-houses & their importance 
  • Tide Mill Farm on Organic Farming
  • Maritime Cooking 
  • Music on the porch
  • Christmas Open House.


Lighthouses in America and their importance was given by Tim Harrison, publisher of Lighthouse Digest.

Please consider donating your pictures of Lubec years ago and Lubec memorabilia to our museum, so these items will be enjoyed by all for generations to learn about our past. 

 

All items donated are recorded and are displayed with a card acknowledging the donor's name in recognition of their contribution.

  •  sardine cans

 MONTHLY MEETINGS:


Society meetings are held on the 3rd WEDNESDAY* (effective 9/22)  of the month at 5:30 pm at our building. Open to the public,  come and join us!! 


MEMBERSHIP:

OPEN TO EVERYONE interested in preserving the history of Lubec.


You do "NOT" need to be a resident of Lubec to be a member, just a desire to preserve our history. 


Dues are $10.00 per person per ​year  (the fiscal year is December 1 through November30th of the following yr).  


Send your check for membership to:

 135 Main St. Lubec, ME  04652 & we will send your membership card to you & you will receive monthly minutes of our meetings.
